Synchronization Agents
19
4. If the UNIX platform on which you are installing the NIS Agent supports
shadow files, the following question will be displayed:
This system supports shadow password files. If NIS is using a shadow
password file, enter its name now. If no file is in use, leave the name
blank.
5. If prompted, enter the location of the shadow password file.
If NIS is configured to use its own password and password shadow file,
ensure that you enter the full path to the NIS shadow password file, not
the default value /etc/shadow, as this is the name of the system
shadow password file.
If you do not want to use a shadow file, remove the default value by
entering a space. Press Enter to continue.
6. Select y to enable maximum synchronization.
7. Select e to enable Global Synchronization.
8. Accept the default global synchronization exceptions list.
9. Enter a list of any user IDs that will be excluded from InSync. (Press
Space followed by Enter to not exclude any users).
10. Select n, not to start the Agent.
Configuration of the NIS Agent is now complete.
After Installation
If the Synchronization Agent for UNIX/Linux Servers is running, it should now
be stopped and restarted in order to start the Database Agent.
