SAP R/3 Database Agent

This section describes how to install and configure the SAP R/3 Database Agent.

Installation Prerequisites

If you are installing this Database Agent:

• for Solaris Intel, it must run on the same system as the SAP R/3 Server

• on Red Hat Enterprise Linux v4 64bit, ensure that your system includes

the 64 bit version of the libstdc++ libraries.

The Synchronization Agent for UNIX/Linux Servers must be installed to provide

communications with the inSync Server, as detailed on page 3.

Before installing the SAP R/3 Database Agent, you must create a Service

account for the Agent to perform the password resets. The account must be

assigned the privileges to logon and reset any user account.

This SAP account must be created with an UPPERCASE user ID and password.

Installing the SAP R/3 Agent

To install the Agent, copy the installation file for your agent to /tmp. Then run

the following commands:
