Then exit out of the smitty screens. F3 will back out of each screen or you can use F10 to go

directly out of the Smitty application.

Once again verify that the new adapter has been assigned by using the ifconfig –a command.

The listing should now show the en3 adapter with the 192.168.1.97 address.

You will need to repeat the above steps on the DB2 LPAR to setup the newly defined virtual

adapter on the DB2 machine.

After these steps are complete on the DB2 server you can test by pinging the address of the

Websphere server from the DB2 server. And/or you can ping from the DB2 server to the

address on the WebShere App Server.
